We’re in a new sermon series called “I Love My Church” from Sunday, May 21st to Sunday, June 4. (Click here to watch these sermons online.)
In conjunction with this series, we are taking a special one-time “I Love My Church” offering on June 4. This is “above and beyond” our regular giving, where your love for our church and our generosity come together to accomplish three strategic initiatives:
- First Impressions (paving our parking lot, refurbishing our carpet and lobby, etc.)
- Next Generation (Staffing and Environments for Kids and Students)
- 10% will go straight to mission causes both locally and globally. (Other than 10% to Missions, these initiatives will be completed in accordance to the amount of money received.)
Do we have a goal?
We have a God-sized goal of $100,000 (along with everyone who calls WCC their church home participating). No gift is too big or too small.
How much should I give?
It’s not really about the money, it’s about our heart and our love for the church and for the work of the gospel. All we ask is for you to PRAY about giving the most generous gift possible. Just PRAY!
How can I give?
Bring your “I Love My Church” offering envelope to church with your gift on Sunday, June 4 or mail it in, postage-paid. You can also give online by clicking here or at our new giving kiosk in the Lobby.
Why are we taking a “special” offering?
Great question. With financial uncertainty related to our senior pastor vacancy, the 2017 budget made sacrifices in some areas (missions) and was perhaps overly optimistic in others (facility maintenance and repairs). Now that we have accomplished our goal of an emergency fund we still need to address the needs of a facility that is over 10 years old (roof, parking lot, A/C, carpet, etc.). Plus, we now have a new Lead Pastor with a fresh perspective and decades of experience who has identified additional needs, particularly in the area of kids and student ministries (investing in the next generation).
Will our other campuses be participating in the “I Love My Church” offering?
YES. Both Covered Bridge and Tu Iglesia will receive monies to be used for their own strategic initiatives.
