Approximately 57% of individuals in South Africa live in poverty.  The unemployment rate is one of the highest in the world.  More than 5 million people were estimated to be living with HIV/AIDS in South Africa in 2007, the highest number of any country in the world.  These numbers are frightening, but there is hope...

West Cobb Church supports and partners with local churches in South Africa to provide them with support and training to help spread the gospel in their communities.  At the same time, we assist with humanitarian needs with the AIDS epidemic in South Africa. Our partners in South Africa are Cape Missions International and Eagles Wing School. For more information about WCC South African Missions, please contact Jim Scarr.

Eagle Wings School

Eagle Wing School is sponsored by First Baptist Church of Khayelitsha.  Set in the heart of the squatter camp, Eagles Wings school ministers to children in grades 1-5.  Children receive a strong academic course of study couched in a loving, Christian environment.  WCC has partnered with Eagles Wings and helps them with the construction of facilities, resources and partnerships.

African Hope Crafts

West Cobb Church is a distributor of this exquisite, handmade jewelry crafted by Africans who are either HIV positive or affected by AIDS.  They are employed by African Hope Crafts, Inc. (AHC) based in Cape Town, South Africa.  Through this ministry, we are helping Africans to ‘Learn, Earn & Serve’ & we share a joint vision with AHC to reach Africans with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When you purchase 1 set (a bracelet, necklace & earrings) of jewelry, it employs 1 person for 1 day, and giving work to 1, feeds 6 -10  people.

If you would like to host a jewelry show, please contact Rhonda Oh at Rhonda@westcobbchurch.com
