What is Street Reach?

Street Reach is ministry that reaches out to the homeless in Atlanta.  Our goal is to change lives and open hearts by showing the love of Christ.  We do this by providing clothing and food to those in need.

When does Street Reach Meet?

There are different activities to get involved with several times through out the week. The outreach ministry takes place every Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., but we begin preparing for this event much earlier.  There are people who are sorting clothes and baking cookies at many different time during the week.  

Where does Street Reach take place?

The actual ministry event takes place in a parking lot at Trinity and Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta.  The food is prepared each Thursday afternoon at Unlimited Party Rental in Hiram at 4:00 p.m. Once the food is prepared, it is loaded in a truck and taken to downtown Atlanta where volunteers meet to distribute the food.  Once a month we also distribute clothing donated to Our Father's Hand Thrift Store. Volunteers are also needed to assist with sorting clothes at the store during the week.

Who can serve at Street Reach?

There is a diverse group of volunteers that serve in this ministry each week.  Many parents bring their children and even some children bring their parents.  It is amazing to see a four year old filling cups with ice for drinks.  If you can't help with serving on Thursdays we need volunteers through out the week to sort clothes, bake cookies or prepare plates.  All are welcome.

Who pays for all the food?

God has blessed this ministry with many people that have a heart and passion for others in need.  All of our support comes from these people.  We have had people give $10 and others give a thousand.   A couple of students from our church even sold devotionals in his neighborhood and raised $34 for Street Reach.  If you would like to make a donation to this ministry, please send it to West Cobb Church and designate it for Street Reach.
